Why You should Consider Hosting Your Web Business with HostGator (no selling – I promise!)

hostgator reviewFirst off, I’m not trying to make affiliate income from this article… Instead, I am writing about HostGator as a ‘tribute’ – simply because HostGator has helped me kick-off my online entrepreneurship career.

I started my webpreneurial journey about three and a half years ago, having no idea whatsoever of what I’m doing. All I wanted that time is to make my first $100 online.

I think I can do so by building website and sell services I provide myself, affiliate products or simply providing information (via blogs.)

Just like any newbie, I visited many Hosting Review sites to learn which web hosting providers that rocks. I read many hosting reviews – iPower review, HostGator Review, SiteGround review, and many more.

I first signed up with iPower because – due to my lack of understanding – I was tricked into doing so by a newbie-preying affiliate marketer! To be honest with you, I’m not having a great start in my online entrepreneurial journey. iPower’s interface is confusing, and as a newbie I’m having difficulty in working with them. The support team was, um, not so helpful.

Then I move on to HostGator and sign up with them using HostGator Coupons with a hope that I will be getting great support – I am a newbie with plenty of questions; so I expect my web hosting provider can help me out.

And my search has ended.

Sure, I’m with other hosting providers, too… but not trying to exaggerate things, I think HostGator is still the best.

How HostGator excels: Great support

Sure – most web hosting providers offer you 99.9% uptime guarantee, 100% money back guarantee and such. But there’s one thing that counts: Customer support.

From HostGator, I get the support I need; literally, HostGator support staffs has helped me to someone who don’t know what WHM is to someone who setups and runs dozens of website with ease. So, I do owe them a lot!

Some thoughts on HostGator’s hosting services

During my 3 years, I’ve had my ups and downs with HostGator. I’m currently on HostGator reseller account and later on HostGator VPS.

While HostGator’s VPS rocks (I’m on the fully-managed 512MB VPS,) the reseller account is – to me – not as good as a couple of years ago. I assume – due to HostGator’s strong growth in popularity – the hosting company oversells, trying to maximize and optimize its web servers. I’ve got some of my sites suspended for excessive CPU usage, but they went back on quickly as I reduce the load to HostGator’s servers.

It’s understandable, though. All I need to do is adjusting to the changes.

Overall, HostGator remains one of the best web hosting providers today, and I strongly suggest you to have a look at what HostGator has got to offer!
