I am venturing to a new kind of site. It’s actually just another Twitter-like microblogging site: Zoom Friend, with a twist.
I always interested in establishing a Twitter-like site. The idea is to offer Twitter-bored people a new alternative to share their notices and thoughts.
Zoom Friend can offer you just that – fresh microblogging site allowing you not only to share text updates, but also files (images, documents, etc.)
And here’s another reason why you would enjoy Zoom Friend: It’s nofollow-free. So, every link a member submit will pass value to the targeted site. With Google now displaying real-time content – such as Twitter status updates – on its search engine result pages, you can expect something out of this
I intend Zoom Friend to be community or group-focused; you can still post updates the Twitter way, but now you can create a group, invite your colleague, and share private discussion on Zoom Friend. Or, you can go public with status updates of your group – suitable for a circle of friends, a celebrity fans club, a football supporter club, etc.
There are actually several good premium microblogging scripts out there on the web, but I always be interested in open source scripts, such as WordPress, Joomla!, Pligg, and many more. Not because they are free to use (free is nice, though…) but because they are community-built, meaning they are built better everyday by users, for user.
So, to cut long story short, I found an incredibly versatile open source microblogging script to use. Thus Zoom Friend was born. Check it out yourself and please let me know if you have any feedback and suggestions.
