5 Tips to Get Your Site from PageRank 0 to PageRank 5 in 6 Months

improving google pagerankThis blog post will show you exactly how to go from PageRank 0 to PageRank 5 in 6 months using white hat search engine marketing techniques (legal and ethical techniques.)

I personally consider PageRank as a measurement of how well I build my websites. I’m no longer as ecstatic as before when it comes to improving PageRank, but nevertheless, I’m happy that my hard work shows some positive results.

I’m happy to learn that most of my websites – especially the money makers – are doing well. In fact, one of them is jumping from PR 0 to PR 4 in 6 months. The jump is probably because Google won’t update PageRank for sites less than 6 months old at the update time. So that site might be lucky to have such huge jump – it’s probably established at the right time.

However, the PR 0 to PR 4 jump is not the best achievement – my best record is to get my blog from PageRank 0 to PageRank 5.

How to improve your PageRank rapidly

So, here’s my exact ways to went from PageRank 0 to PageRank 5 in 6 months using white hat techniques only:

1. Write compelling article

Ha, ha! So typical answer, I guess… Well, no matter how you hate it, great articles do attract traffic and bait links (entice people to link to your article from their sites.) Matt Cutts (who is this guy?), THE Google Engineer, strongly recommend this… so, you should listen, I suppose…

The good news is, you don’t have to be a great writer to do it. All you need to do is to offer tips (how-to and top lists articles – e.g. “Top 10 blogging mistakes to avoid…” – work wonder,) share your opinion (the more controversial the better,) and offer what people are actually looking for.

2. Promote your article to social sites

Getting your content to as many eyeballs as possible is crucial – so start promoting your own content to your (or others) account(s) on Twitter, Facebook, Digg, BlinkList, etc. Be aware, you shouldn’t spam, though… knowing your limit is the key.

3. Get people to review your site

Paid reviews, review exchanges, video reviews, etc. – all kind or reviews are very useful in driving traffic and backlinks to your site.

4. Directory submissions

Directory submissions might not be as effective as before, but directories still offer you some value when it comes to link building (you can learn more about web directories from this directory blog of mine.)

5. (Controversial) Buy links

You can buy links from sites with higher PageRank to boost your site’s PageRank.

Google thinks this is against the Term of Services, but no matter how Google try to convince people NOT to do it, some DO buy links and they’ve got their sites to gain good PageRank. So, why not? (You can get your site penalized though if you get caught…) But I think this is not a grey hat or even black hat method of link building. Authority sites are doing it… and Google ranks them high. So, why shouldn’t you?

I’m not endorsing this – it’s all up to you whether you should buy links or not.

So, there you go – 5 tips to get your site from zero to hero in 6 month time. Those simple tips will yield mixed results, but if you do them persistently on regular basis, you will see results more sooner than latter.
